Emelie Lindmark, known for most people as ‘Emitaz’ on Instagram, is a Swedish entrepreneur, running her own clothing company Le Capsole. Together with her husband Gerard Sabé, model and entrepreneur, the couple was in a search for a new home in Barcelona and even though the apartment they found needed a major renovation they saw the great potential. The Swedish heritage is prominent in the interior and Emelie wanted to integrate it into the apartment's atmosphere and of course, also into the kitchen.

The coffee station was a must-have for the couple and added a rustic feel to the Scandinavian kitchen.

Emelie and Gerard desired an apartment that would seamlessly blend their heritage. While the Scandinavian minimalist style is predominant, the influence of Spanish vibrancy is clearly present.

The kitchen was made-to-measure for the couple’s apartment and ordered from Sweden.

In a recent interview in Vouge Scandinavia, Emelie shares her thoughts on choosing the right brand for designing and delivering the kitchen. Upon discovering that Nordiska Kök could deliver to Europe, she exclaimed;

The moment I knew Nordiska Kök were venturing into this, I jumped,” she shares. “They have utterly surpassed our expectations, crafting our dream kitchen. The fusion of dark wood, light cabinets, and marble is a visual delight – I couldn’t have imagined it more perfect.

When starting to plan for the new kitchen, Emelie realized that all her inspiration images on Pinterest were from Nordiska Kök, so the choice was easy, she said. Given that Emelie is Swedish, a Swedish brand is of course dear to her heart. When Emelie and Gerard were asked if they had any concerns about ordering a kitchen from Sweden to Spain, that they had only seen online and on social media, they both agreed that they had no hesitation at all.

Emelie shared that it would be great to show that a kitchen brand from Sweden could deliver to Spain and that the outcome most certainly would be great.

The rustic, dark wood is present also in the dining area.

The kitchen is in a classic Shaker-style, but with narrower frames for a bit more elegant touch. The lamp in the ceiling is from Studio Laurin.

The sofa is custom-made to match the armchairs and the rustic dark wood sofa table.

The kitchen was made-to-measure for the couple's kitchen space and is a Shaker-style kitchen with a slightly narrower frame for a more elegant and sophisticated expression, just like Emelie had in mind. A light Shaker kitchen, contrasted with dark wood – a perfect mix of Scandinavian minimalism and Spanish influences with a hint of rustic charm.

The oak adds a rustic feel and a warmth into the Scandinavian design kitchen.

The sink in porcelain was a well thought-out decision to add a little farmhouse feeling into the kitchen design.

The coffee station was quickly identified as a clear must-have for the couple. As a content creator, Emelie produces a significant portion of her content for Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok in the kitchen, especially around the coffee station. The dark oak creates a beautiful contrast to the otherwise light-beige hue and serves as the perfect backdrop for any kitchen content.

An exciting feature in the kitchen is the hidden entrance to the laundry room. Behind the cabinet doors, which give the impression of just being another cupboard, lies the secret entrance. When the door is closed, the laundry room is concealed — perfect for days when there is a lot of laundry but less time to wash.

The hidden entrance is a smart feature and helps save some space too.

Scandinavian minimalism meets rustic charm – mixed with personal details in Emelie and Gerards beautiful Barcelona home.

Photographs and interior details adds a personal touch.

Emelie is an ambassador for Nespresso and of course the coffee machine has its given place in the kitchen.

In the dining room, there is also a seating area with beautiful armchairs from NV Gallery. Read our best tips on how to decorate your dining room.
